Weekend Brunch!

Been having brunch nowadays over the weekends, mainly because by the time i wake up, breakfast time is already over, LOL Brunch seem to be the "in" thing now, you see photos of all day breakfast on facebook, on instagram etc. Lots of places are offering all day breakfast now and here's two places i went over this long weekend! Thank god for the Friday!

Pique Nique

Tried their Classic Egg Benedict ($12) on my first visit. Headed back to try their Big breakfast set ($15.80) on Saturday. Price is reasonable, portion is just nice and i like the ambience. Would definitely return to try the other items. They have a huge selection of desserts and cakes but i'm not sure if it's worth the price (1 slice would set you back at about $8)
Salted Caramel waffle with homemade vanilla ice cream ($11.80) One of the best i tried!

Jones the Grocer

Heard and read great reviews about this place. Felt instant happiness the moment i stepped into their ion outlet, it had a fine dining feel. Open kitchen concept. Had their breakfast menu and ordered "Eggs and bacon on Sourdough bread", "Egg Benedict with salmon", "Big breakfast" Food was good, however i would say it's on the pricey side. Do try their desserts as well, had the Lemon meringue tart ($5.50) and macaroons (only $1.50 each!) Recommended for brunch!

Under the deep blue S.E.A!

From the title above, you should be able to guess what this post is all about right? This post is about a trip to the SEA Aquarium at RWS! I think i mentioned before recently that the 2 latest attraction in Singapore would be the Adventure Cove water park (which i went last month!) and SEA Aquarium which i went few weeks ago with the *cousins! YAYY
 photo sea5.jpg
Met up with everyone at Vivo and had brunch at Coffee Bean before heading over to Sentosa!

The 8 of us all ready to visit the World's Largest Aquarium!
 photo sea3.jpg
Regretted not purchasing the tickets online after looking at the crowd. We were queuing halfway until a middle aged man approached us to ask if we are interested in getting tickets from him at $25 (usual price - $29) He had this whole stack of tickets with him so we were quite skeptical, thinking it might be a scam until we saw someone bought from him.

Since they managed to get in with the tickets, we decided to buy from him since it's $4 cheaper PLUS it came with a $5 resort world voucher which can be used for food or souvenirs in RWS. So technically we paid $20 for admission only! Please note that i'm NOT encouraging you guys to buy your tickets from strangers. It's at your OWN risk. The safest approach would be to queue up and buy from the counter like everyone, or purchase it online at the usual price.

Our tickets!
 photo sea33.jpg
Group photo before entering the Aquarium! It's better to take photos outside first because it's quite dark inside, LOL
 photo sea27.jpg
THE ENTRANCE! Felt that i was entering underwater world, LOL
 photo sea6.jpg
Right before you enter the entrance, there's already this huge tank on the left side which houses a "sunken ship" In my mind i was like, "is this the so called largest aquarium?" because it's already quite huge. Sua ku. AHAHHAHAHA
 photo sea4.jpg
 photo sea8.jpg
Everyone busy snapping photos of the fishes.
 photo sea7.jpg
Spotted a diver untangling this super long tube, i think it's like a vacuum to clean up the tank or something...
 photo sea9.jpg
The crowd that day. Oh my tians. By the way, it really feels like underwater world.
 photo sea10.jpg
Why does it look like i'm taking photo with an almost empty tank. Where are all the fishes?!
 photo sea12.jpg
 photo sea2.jpg
Lobster and Hokkaido snow crab. First thing that came up to my mind was buffet. Hee hee
 photo sea16.jpg
Little black and white jelly fishes! So cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
 photo sea28.jpg
 photo sea17.jpg
For all you know, everyone is just looking at a very good LCD screen. AHAHHAHAHAAHA
 photo sea25.jpg
 photo sea24.jpg
 photo sea15.jpg
One of the interaction section of the place - Touching Starfishes. LOL
 photo sea14.jpg
Not really worth the squeeze if it's crowded. The staffs are really friendly though.

BEHOLD THE WORLD LARGEST AQUARIUM!
 photo sea18.jpg
 photo sea19.jpg
 photo sea20.jpg
2 stingrays in one photo hor! Apparently the above stingray (the one in black) is the only giant oceanic manta ray in captivity. Apparently the dolphins are not here yet, and it was planned for whale shark to be included in the aquarium but they scrapped the idea... This might be the world's largest aquarium but it still lack the quantity and species :(

You see the one in Osaka (which used to be the 2nd largest):

Can you believe it! Oh my tians.
 photo sea23.jpg
Last portion of the Aquarium which is the Sharks!
 photo sea11.jpg
 photo sea26.jpg
Really quite a lot of sharks i would say. It's was feeding time when we were there. Quite a sight!
 photo sea1.jpg
Group photo at the end of our tour in SEA Aquarium!

For $29/person, i would say it's not really worth it. I'm not sure if they are going to fill up the tanks with more fishes and species so that it doesn't look that empty, or when they bringing in the dolphins but honestly i felt that it was a little disappointing. It's just like another underwater world, but with this HUGE tank that everyone is raving about. Oh wells.

Perhaps in the future if i happened to visit the aquarium again, it would be better?

What the Shoes.

Finally my mum exploded.

I'm joking. My mum just reminded the amount of shoes i have, which i honestly had no idea. I have my own shoe rack in the storeroom but apparently the rack is full, and the shoe boxes are starting to pile up in the storeroom randomly every where. Sometimes i even have difficulty finding the particular shoe that i wanted to wear and i have to open the boxes one by one (including my mum's shoes!) That's when i decided, I'm gonna move EVERY SINGLE PAIR into my room.

But first, i would need brand new shoe racks.
 photo ikea.jpg
The best place i could possibly think of, and one of my favourite place to shop at - IKEA.

Random #outfit of the day which was taken while waiting for the bus!
  photo IMG_0569.jpg
One of the MUST HAVEs when at IKEA. After all it's only $1.50 for a drink and hot dog bun!
 photo P1110473.jpg
Fast forward to the next day. Couldn't decide between 2 shoe racks that i saw so i decided to get both. I'm so glad i got both because soon i realised one would not be enough for all my shoes! Spent about an hour fixing up the racks.
 photo P1110478.jpg
Final product! The tall one on the right for the shoe boxes and the left for shoes that i always wear!

Next thing i did was to take out all the shoes that i could find.
 photo P1110482.jpg
 photo P1110483.jpg
That's about 18 pairs excluding my slippers and sandals! Now i realised i really have a lot of shoes. TOMS alone is 5 pairs already. Imagine if i only bought 1 of the shoe rack instead of both, it would definitely be not enough!
 photo P1110487.jpg
Ta-dah! I now have all my shoes in my room!

Now i'm trying to buy shoes since i already have so many pairs. Out of the 18 pairs i have, at least 5 pairs are new and a few that only wore a few times so no more buying of shoes! If i continue buying shoes, i seriously have no idea where to put them. As you can see, there's only 1 space left on the rack :| Maybe i can blog about my room revamp next!

Instagram: Bangkok 2013

Just returned from a 4D3N Bangkok trip last night. When i told my friends this trip would be my first time to BKK, most of them were quite surprised. Mainly because #1: I've been to further countries, #2: BKK is one of the cheapest country to travel to and #3: How come a shopaholic like me haven't been to this well known shopping paradise! Well, i have finally experienced this place for myself and i love love love it! Everything is quite cheap and there is so many things to buy!

This instagram collage is basically a little summary of my BKK trip!

I guess for the next 1 or 2 weeks, i will be editing the photos that i took during the trip and do up a short travelogue! Didn't really take much photos this time because 3/4 of the time was spent shopping! Stay tuned to my BKK travelogue!

Feeling Stress? BREATHE in deep.

Advertorial

At different point of time in your life, there is certain levels of stress one will feel. Just to give some example, when studying, you will feel the stress to excel and do well in exams. At work, feeling the stress to meet deadlines, attending meetings after meetings. Sometimes you wish you have more time, or more money to buy things that you want.
 photo school.jpg
I know. The list can just go on and on.

If you are feeling stress right now, i have 5 tips for you on how to cope with it!
 photo copes.jpg
In short, these tips are known as "COPES" Let's go through them briefly.
 photo C.jpg
 photo O.jpg
 photo P.jpg
 photo E.jpg
 photo S.jpg
I know it might not be as easy as it seem but hey, it's definitely worth a try right? There's always this quote we hear every now and then - "when there is a will, there's a way."

Here are 2 of my personal tips:
 photo organizer.jpg
Honestly, I always feel that i'm very disorganized and forgetful. Sometimes i'm so busy that i might forget i have something important on that day, or miss a certain deadline. So what i eventually did was to get a pocket organiser (A small one and durable one will do so you can always bring it around with you!) and fill in any events, meetings or important dates that come across at any point of time. Update and refer to it religiously. It really helps, trust me!
 photo holiday.jpg
I know this might not be really practical to everyone because this requires time off and money BUT don't you sometimes feel that you deserve a break? It need not be a 8D7N to Maldives or Paris but perhaps a simple 3D2N to Phuket to enjoy the beaches will do the job. This really works for me as i work in a stressful environment and after months of hard work, it's time to reward myself with a holiday and rejuvenate to face the challenges ahead when i return.

Last but not least, i would like to introduce this website - Breathe.sg to you guys!
 photo website.jpg
Breathe.sg is brought to you by Health Promotion Board. This website offer you tips of relieving stress, events happening, activities you can take part, useful resources such as Audible Hearts which offers a listening ear to your problems.
